Roma goalkeeper Alisson: After year of waiting, fans now seeing my best

Roma goalkeeper Alisson Becker feels fans have now seen his best this season.

The Brazilian has been in sensational form this season, catching the eye of teams like Real Madrid, but last season he was backup to Wojciech Szczesny.

“It was a year of waiting," Alisson told Undici.

“I expected to play more, but I never gave up at any point, I trained really hard. I also learned to watch the game before I received the ball, so I could play better with my feet.

“That way I already know what I'm going to do.

“A modern goalkeeper has to have positional sense, personality, concentration and above all the ability to read the game in advance.

“As a goalkeeper I have to think that my teammate will make a mistake, so I can always be ready and not be surprised.

“I watch the opponent's matches and characteristics before I face them, then on the day of the match I focus on my performance.

“I watch my videos, the saves I've made and why I did that. I focus a lot on concentration.

“Then in the dressing room I try to visualise what will happen in the match."
