AS Roma coach Jose Mourinho has no doubts about Nicola Zalewski and Stephan El Shaarawy.
The pair have been linked to Italy's betting investigation.
But Mourinho says: “I spoke to my players and I am very calm.
“They talked to me and I am confident they are honest. They have enough of a rapport with me to tell me the truth, even if it could've been bad news. I trust them. Roma also released an official statement on the situation, so there are no concerns.
“In fact, I even joked around with Zalewski, because I was the first to talk to him about it and he didn't even know what was being said.
“I am a little sad that the front page of a newspaper in Portugal said 'a Mourinho player bet on his results.' That is damaging to the image of the players who are not guilty.
“What happens next is a legal matter, we must wait and trust in the justice system. And whoever needs to pay for something they have done wrong, will pay for it. Usually, anyway."
