Former AS Roma sporting director Walter Sabatini says Max Allegri is the best man in charge for Juventus.

Antonio Conte has been linked with a return to Juve.

But Sabatini told Bianconera News: "The best figure is Allegri, he knows how to navigate the storm and performs even better when he finds himself in the storm. This year he has been rather isolated, until (Cristiano) Giuntoli arrived and he adapted to a situation that was not easy for a coach.

"I call him the 'Leopard of the Grand Duchy' for his qualities. Everything changes so that nothing changes and he juggles it very well. The Juventus of the last two months is a very competitive Juventus and what matters is being competitive.

"Yes. They will compete for the championship. Two months ago it wasn't even conceivable, it was a luxury to think of a Champions League placement. To this day I say that, seeing the team on the pitch every Sunday, I think they will compete for the championship, there is no doubt."
