Roma chief Baldissoni: This is no tragedy...

AS Roma director Mauro Baldissoni insists they'll bounce back from last night's Champions League elimination.

A 2-0 home defeat to Manchester City ends Roma's campaign.

"Will the team suffer an emotional backlash? Let's not ask these questions. It's not a tragedy or even a step backwards and I disagree with anyone who says it is," said Baldissoni.

"We knew that this was going to be a difficult group against the champions of Germany, England and Russia, but we faced it with open and attacking football.

"We had the chance to fight for qualification to the last game, so Roma proved they are competitive at this level.

"We returned to Europe this year and are second in Serie A, so in the running to get back into the Champions League next season.

"The new owners have not been here long and we know there are still steps forward to go."
