Roma captain Francesco Totti has jumped to the defence of calamity goalkeeper Alexandre Doni.
Doni made some serious efforts in Roma's Europa League defeat at Panathinaikos.
But Totti said: "I want to stay close to my teammate Doni, because you cannot forget the merits of the player who was representative of many victories.
"He also played through an injury and with great pain in order to help this club. Nobody can understand that more than me.
"All of us, including the fans, will show Doni our affection. It is too easy when winning. You have to take responsibility and stay close to people in difficult times."
