Roma captain Totti delighted with Golden Boot

Roma captain Francesco Totti is delighted to have won this season's European Golden Boot.

The Giallorossi captain ended his campaign with 26 Serie A goals and was free to celebrate after Real Madrid man Ruud Van Nistelrooy failed to catch him in the final match of the Liga season.

"One year ago many thought my career was over after fracturing my ankle and believed that I was only being given a chance with the Nazionale because of my name," explained Totti. "Now I can say that all these rumours brought me luck. I am a world champion, we won the Coppa Italia and I ended the season as the Capocannoniere, also winning the Golden Boot.

"Now I have another reason to mark June 17 on my calendar, on this same day six years ago we won the Scudetto.

"I dedicate this win to my family, my children and all those who have always believed in me, no matter what.

"I also want to thank President Franco Sensi, he stood by me and I hope I will repay him with more victories in the future."
