Roma captain Lorenzo Pellegrini was delighted after victory at Sampdoria.

Pellegrini was happy to prove the matchwinner on Monday night.

He later said: "We knew it would be difficult, because we know how hostile this field can be. It was important to win, now we have a week to prepare for an important match that we will play at home. We are very satisfied with these three points.

"I think that if you want to try to reach something important, you have to fight for every point. What matters are these points here, which last year could have slipped due to fatigue, but this year cannot happen because of mentality. Every game it is played as a final, this will make a difference in the long run.

"I am very happy, I want to do as many. I am satisfied with today's victory, it was important to stay where we want to be. We enjoy the victory. This will be one of the few weeks in which we have more days to prepare for the next match."
