Roma captain Lorenzo Pellegrini says the players have enjoyed a positive preseason.

The midfielder says there's a great winning mentality developing at the European Conference League title holders.

He said, "We are working and it may be that there is a lack of lucidity in the cue or in the strength. We are still very happy, we have done a great job to start well.

"This year with the stop in November for the World Cup it will be important to start strong, in order to get to the recess in a good position in the standings.

"The new ones? I think last year we experienced something special, with a trophy at the end. This means that the mentality of the group is a winning one, of people who work, do not give up and that even in training aims at success.

"This is what we are also transmitting to the new ones. Adding some players who can make a difference is the right way to win."
