Roma coach Claudio Ranieri says the Scudetto is in their hands after taking over the Serie A leadership.

The Giallorossi had not been clear leaders of Serie A since September 23 2004. But yesterday's 2-1 win over Atalanta has Roma back on top.

"It's all to fight for, game after game. There are five left and we have got to play with a great deal of humility," said Ranieri.

"They are all going to be incredibly difficult, but we know the Scudetto is in our hands now. Before we had to depend on the results of others too."

The next test for Roma is the derby against Lazio, who fought back from 2-0 down to win 3-2 at Bologna.

"When you meet Lazio it is always a separate game from the rest of the season and our positions in the table or even current form counts for nothing," concluded Ranieri.

"They have a solid defence and it'll be another very intriguing encounter."
