Glenn Roeder is convinced Alan Shearer will be in charge of Newcastle United next season.

Roeder knows the Toon scene like the back of his hand after being a player, captain, academy director, caretaker manager and finally manager.

He said: "He need look no further than Kevin Keegan. Or Howard Kendall, who was magnificent in his first spell at Everton and a disaster in his second. I will be shocked if Al is not still manager come August."
