Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers insists big Andy Carroll holds no fears for his team.
Carroll will face Liverpool on Sunday for the first time since they took a huge financial hit and sold him to West Ham United for £15million last year.
Rodgers said: "You can't let someone of that ilk, whose strength is attacking the ball in the area, have a free run at it.
"You've got to be really intelligent as a defender.
"We've come up against big centre forwards and dealt with it."
