Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has hinted at the Anfield arrival of potential marquee signings in the coming transfer window.
The Reds have dropped from second place to fifth on the Premier League table this term which has prompted Rodgers to suggests that some fresh faces will be brought to Merseyside in the summer.
"We have to look to improve the squad again which every big club will do," said Rodgers after the 1-0 defeat to Hull City on Tuesday night.
"For fans and players it's great to get those marquee players.
"They're maybe the one or two we need and the owners will support that. If they're available and affordable within the model then we will look to get them.
"We won 10 out of 13 and were playing catch up for lots of the season and got ourselves in a great position.
"But we lost a couple of big games which did hurt our confidence a bit. The challenge for me for next year is building a team that can get through the rough waters as well. That will be critical for us. When there are times of season when it is tough, we have to get through that."
Rodgers, who lost Luis Suarez to Barcelona before the campaign, has already revealed that a striker is his top priority this summer.
