Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is delighted with the news of Luis Suarez's return.
The former Reds No.7 is among a number of elite players confirmed to participate in a one-off game between two All-Star teams, raising money for the local community.
Organised by the Liverpool FC Foundation, the Sunday March 29 event sees Steven Gerrard and Jamie Carragher assume captaincy and selection of either side.
Rodgers said of Barcelona striker Suarez: "It will be great. We have kept in contact since he has been away.
"He is obviously a top-class player and loved his time here at Liverpool. He always wanted to come back [for the game].
"He has got something internationally but he is making every effort off his own bat to come back. It will be brilliant to see him and great for the supporters.
"He loved Liverpool while he was here. He took the opportunity to go to another country and play his football, but he's certainly adored here at Liverpool.
"The supporters loved having him here. Every time he stepped onto the training pitch and a football field for the team, he gave everything.
"That's what any supporters, and particularly Liverpool supporters, appreciate. It'll be nice for him to run out into the game, and he'll probably want to win that game as well!"
