Rochdale have signed Blackburn Rovers goalkeeper Jake Kean on a season-long loan.
The 20-year-old who joined Rovers from Derby County in the summer of 2009 spent four months at Hartlepool last season making 25 appearances for the club in that time.
Dale manager Steve Eyre said: "He's a big lad with immense potential and a very good prospect for the future.
"I'd like to thank Bobby Mimms in particular and Blackburn Rovers for allowing him to come to us because we were among a few clubs wanting him."
