Robinho has revealed Manchester City have been planning to move for AC Milan star Kaka since August. The Brazil winger said: "When I arrived in the summer, the directors of City told me that Kaka was a priority and their main objective, and now they have finally been open about what they have been up to.
"For me, Kaka is one of the best players in the world and it will be incredible to play next to him at City.
"I can't really say at the moment whether he will come or not because it will be a big decision for him to leave Milan because he loves the club.
"I have spoken by phone with Kaka but they are private conversations.
''We are friends and companions in the Brazil squad and it is normal for us to be in contact. Also I speak with other players of different clubs.''
Robinho has no doubt that he would make a fantastic dream team with Kaka, despite the fact Brazilians have often taken time to settle in English football.
He added: "Kaka will be a huge triumph in England and in any club in the world.
"He is world-class and his technique is unique. He is very professional and takes his football very seriously.
"If City could close the operation then it would be sensational for English football.
"I believe that we can play in the same team - it will be a guaranteed spectacle on the field. But I will wait to see what happens and will try not to get carried away.
"He very nearly signed for Madrid when I was there.''
