Roberts keen for Blackburn not to rubbish Ince

Jason Roberts is keen for Blackburn Rovers to move on from the Paul Ince era without any negative talk.

The striker explained: "I want to steer clear of the past, it's easy for everyone to say. If you look on the pitch, you see that everyone put a shift in and maybe, for whatever reason, we were guilty of not doing that in the past.

"I want to stay clear of saying whatever about the previous manager but I guess we showed everyone what we are capable of. I'm wary of saying these things because I don't want to be seen to be saying negative things about the past manager.

"I thought he was a nice guy, I wished him the best when he was here and I wish him the best in the future. I don't want to come out and sound like I'm being negative to him.

"I think we have proven in the past when we are playing at our best that we'll give anyone a game. We have got half a season left and if we perform as we can do we will be OK but it's all right saying that, we've got to go out on the pitch and do it."
