Newcastle United goalkeeper Rob Elliot has declared he intends to stay.
The 29-year-old started the season as third choice at St James' Park but an injury to Karl Darlow has resulted in the Republic of Ireland international being back on bench duty in the Premier League.
Elliot told the Evening Chronicle: “Football's the strangest thing in the world. Five years ago I was playing in League One with Charlton. I've ended up playing in the Premier League and Europa League with Newcastle and playing for my country.
“You can't judge what the future's doing, you've just got to do your best every day. I love being up here - you can't ask for a bigger football club.
“It's just about getting as many opportunities to show people what I can do."
