River Plate are swooping for Uruguay U20 star Fabricio Diaz.

The U20 World Cup star had been expected to sign for Barcelona this summer.

However, River are set to sign Diaz after settling terms with Liverpool de Montevideo, reports TMW.

Discussing Barca's interest earlier this year, Diaz remarked: "It's a dream that such a big club is watching me, it's fantastic.

"I'm calm down and my agent will find the best option for me."
