Riise desperate for Liverpool to end Old Trafford drought

John Arne Riise is desperate for Liverpool to end their winning drought at Manchester United today.

The experienced left-back was part of the last Reds side to beat United in the league back in April 2004, when a Danny Murphy penalty silenced Old Trafford.

He told liverpoolfc.tv: "I was playing that day and it was a great feeling. Like I say though, it was a long time ago.

"But the system we are playing with at the moment is working really well for us and I think Man Utd know we're in good form. We are playing really well and we're confident. We are going there to try to get a win.

"It's not going to be easy because we'll be going to Old Trafford to try to get a result against a great, great team."
