Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane was eager to see Isco sold last year, it has been revealed.
Fed-up with Isco's attitude last year, Zidane told president Florentino Perez he'd be happy if the midfielder was sold in the summer of 2016, says Diario Gol.
While reluctant, Perez agreed to listen to offers, but only Tottenham made a firm bid.
Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino gave the green light for a €30m offer to be tabled, but it fell short of Perez's valuation. Manchester City also expressed interest, but did not follow up with a concrete offer.
In the end, Isco stayed and eventually won over Zidane to the point where he starred in last season's Champions League triumph over Juventus.
