Manchester United attacker Anthony Martial failed to convince Sevilla teammates and staff during his six month loan, it has been revealed.
After losing his first-team spot at United earlier in the season, he was allowed to join Sevilla on loan in January. The move was designed to help Martial restore his confidence and form before returning to Old Trafford in the summer.
However, the loan has completely failed and the forward was little more than a bit-part player at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium.
Sevilla reporter Manolo Martin explained to The Athletic that Martial was cold and distant with his team-mates, and claimed nobody cared when he didn't play in any of the club's final games of the season.
"He was given a lot of love from the dressing room, but he didn't give it back," Martin said.
"He was cold and distant. Nothing with the media either. An interview with the official channels when he signed but nothing in the press room, nor with the supporters. There was complete indifference to him – he wasn't even whistled. He didn't play in the final games and nobody cared."
