REVEALED: Why Alexis quit after meeting Man Utd boss Solskjaer

Alexis Sanchez chose to quit Manchester United for Inter Milan after crunch talks with manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

The Daily Star says he decided to call it a day at United after Solskjaer told him he would only play in Europa League and Cup games this season.

Despite completing his move to Serie A, United are still having to pay more than half of his £505,000-a-week wages.

Solskjaer decided after 18 months of injuries and poor form, scoring just three goals in 32 league games, the former Arsenal man was not good enough to stay.

Instead the United boss has opted to go with youth, preferring Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial to be the main striking options this season.
