More details of Matteo Guendouzi's clash with Olympique Marseille teammate Gerson have emerged.

During OM's defeat on Sunday to Lens, Guendouzi confronted Gerson after they had conceded a second goal. The on-loan Arsenal midfielder ran towards the Brazilian before confronting him.

The pair exchanged words before Dimitri Payet and Pape Gueye were forced to step in and stop the clash getting physical.

L'Equipe says Guendouzi, in coarse terms, asked Gerson when he was 'going to start running?' A demand which angered his teammate.

However, it's also been revealed many of the OM locker room side with Guendouzi, believing Gerson is an undeserved favourite of coach Jorge Sampaoli.
