West Ham United will reward Winston Reid with a new contract this summer.

The Sun has revealed that Hammers boss Slaven Bilic believes the defender should be on the same money as January signing Jose Fonte.

It is understood that New Zealand international Reid will be offered £70,000 per week and will have his release clause increased from £15million to more than £20m.

A Hammers source said: “Winston will receive a new contract offer in the summer, he deserves parity.

“He is highly-valued by the club. We want to increase his buyout clause as well, there will be no risks taken to lose him cheap.

“He has given us so many years of good service and is respected that it's only fair he's one of the top earners."

Reid, 28, is already contracted until 2021 after penning a six-year deal in 2015 but the Hammers are determined to keep him in East London and reward him for his consistency in recent seasons.
