Iker Casillas has fallen dramatically this season in Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho's estimation.
La Sexta says there are three main reasons why Mourinho has lost confidence in Casillas, which now includes the coach viewing Sergio Ramos ahead of the club captain as the locker room's main leader.
Mourinho and his staff have been left frustrated by Casillas' refusal to work on the defects in his game they've highlighted in recent months. He's also unhappy with the goalkeeper's general attitude in training.
Secondly, Mourinho simply has been unimpressed by Casillas' form this season and believes his performances haven't been good enough.
And thirdly, Casillas, from Mou's point of view, is failing in his leadership duties and isn't as involved with his teammates as is expected from a captain. Ramos is now regarded by the coach as the squad's biggest voice.
Meanwhile, Casillas snubbed Real teammate Cristiano Ronaldo in the Ballon d'Or voting, naming Ramos ahead of the Portuguese in his selection as Spain captain.
