Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino is ready to promote Tashan Oakley-Boothe to his first team.

The Daily Mail says Pochettino is ready to give teenager Oakley-Boothe a chance to stake a first team claim this season.

Pochettino has been so impressed by the 17-year-old that Tottenham pulled back from making a serious offer for Celta Vigo midfielder Pape Cheikh Diop who is now poised to join Lyon.

England Under 17 international Oakley-Boothe figured for Spurs on their USA tour and was on the bench against Burnley on Sunday following injury to Victor Wanyama. He can play as a holding midfielder or a box to box role.
