Former Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson identified Mason Greenwood was a potential first teamer when the 18 year-old was still a junior player.

Greenwood was again on the scoresheet for last night's victory over Brighton.

It was his 13th goal of the campaign and earned him plaudits from pundits and fans alike as he starred in a front three involving Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial.

And the goal only went to further enhance Ferguson's assessment of the fledgling star.

The Daily Mail says at a League Managers' Association lunch three or four years ago - when Greenwood would have still been at school - Fergie announced: "I think we have found one."
