Arsenal defender William Saliba had a chance to go to Manchester United.
But the young Frenchman turned down the Red Devils after he heard Arsenal were interested, according toThe Telegraph.
United tried to get him in January 2019, but Arsenal is the club he really wanted to join.
Saliba wanted to join the extensive list of his countrymen who have excelled in north London, including Patrick Vieira, Robert Pires and Thierry Henry.
The 19-year-old now has French natives Alexandre Lacazette, Matteo Guendouzi, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Nicolas Pepe to help him settle at the Emirates.
He spent the past season on loan with St. Etienne, and is now ready to star in the Premier League.
