Sergio Ramos made one final plea to Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti about a new contract before signing for PSG.

Marca says the former Real captain called Ancelotti on the day of his appointment to wish him well ahead of his return, before asking him to intervene on his behalf in order to have his future at the club secured.

Ramos was looking to extend his 16-year career with Los Blancos, but Ancelotti told the 35-year-old that it was between him and president Florentino Perez.

Days later his exit was finalised.

Ramos would later sign with PSG and is now waiting to make his debut for the Parisians.
