Piotr Zielinski has agreed personal terms with Liverpool.
The Mirror says Udinese midfielder Zielinski, 21, has sorted out his wages and Liverpool just have to finalise a payment schedule and bonuses.
The Poland international is expected to cost £9m.
Zielinski has spent the last two years on loan at Empoli and scored five goals in 35 appearances this season.
Dawid Chylaszek, who works for Zielinski's agency BMG Sports, revealed a transfer to an unnamed club is close.
"There's a lot of interest in Piotr Zielinski," Chylaszek told Reviersport.
"We are pretty far with one club already, and it could lead to a signature in the next couple of hours."
