David Moyes moved to overhaul Manchester United's scouting staff after being shocked by reports on two of Europe's best players. Moyes lost his job as manager at United on Monday.
The Sunday Express says he e was left bewildered on receiving reports from an established Old Trafford spy, disparaging the abilities of two of his major transfer targets - Atletico Madrid's Diego Costa and Bayern Munich's Toni Kroos.
It's why Moyes insisted on bringing in trusted former lieutenants from Everton, Robbie Cooke and James Smith, with this summer's crucial transfer window in mind.
That, however, triggered resentment and the development of an 'us' (establishment United figures) and 'them' (newcomers, mainly from Everton) environment.
