Luka Modric regrets he chose to stay with Real Madrid this season.

The veteran midfielder turned down a massive offer from the Saudi Pro League last year. But he has struggled for minutes this term.

Okdiario's Eduardo Inda, speaking on El Chiringuito, revealed: "I said that Modric had a Arabian offer. He stayed because he spoke to the coach. Several months have passed, he is not even the 12th or 13th player on the team. He is quite upset.

"He has said to Carlo Ancelotti, with good words because he is educated, that he has been deceived.

"Ancelotti did not tell him he'd start, but that he had him and that he was going to play, although he did not assure him of ownership. He said he was going to count on him.

"Are you counting on him a lot? He is player 15 or 16 of the squad. The idea is not to renew him and to leave this summer.

"I think he will try to resume the Saudi adventure. It's a lot of money. First they offered him 40 million (euros) and then 60 net per season, it would be a brutal end of career."
