Manchester United had a bid for Hakan Calhanoglu turned down by Bayer Leverkusen yesterday.
Reports in Turkey say United made a deadline day bid of €36m (£26.4m) for Bayer midfielder Calhanoglu.
The 21-year-old joined the Bundesliga club last summer from Hamburger and enjoyed an impressive debut season.
However, according to Koprubasi, he was unhappy with Leverkusen's recent sale of star man Son Heung-min to Tottenham and was the target of a late United swoop.
United, evidently, failed with the reported bid.
