REVEALED: How Wenger reacted to players after Bayern Munich thrashing

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger was calm in the aftermath of the 5-1 Champions League thrashing at Bayern Munich.

After the heavy defeat, he did not lay into his players, treating them with respect despite their dismal showing.

“He didn't throw his toys out of the pram, that's the way he is, he tries to treat them like men," said a source to the Daily Star.

He also did not break with his routine of allowing his players the day to recuperate following a match.

Wenger also faced flak for handing the skipper's armband to Kieran Gibbs after Laurent Koscielny was injured.

But the source pointed out Gibbs has skippered weakened Arsenal teams in Cup competitions, so there was a reason behind the move.
