REVEALED: How Liverpool are helping Minamino feel at home

Liverpool management have done all they can to help Takumi Minamino to settle at his new club.

Liverpool parted with just £7.25million to sign the Japanese international from RB Salzburg ahead of the January transfer window, after triggering his release clause.

Minamino made his debut for the Anfield club in Liverpool's 1-0 win over Everton in the third round of the FA Cup, in which he played 70 minutes.

The Liverpool Echo says behind the scenes, Liverpool have made a few changes to best accommodate Minamino.

One of these involved giving him a good spot in the Reds dressing room - between Keita and Sadio Mane.

The duo previously played at Salzburg, and Keita actually crossed paths with Minamino, when the two stars were in Austria together from 2015 to 2016.

Keita and Mane are therefore the best players to sit alongside Minamino, as they all speak the same language and have similar experiences.

But the decision to sit Minamino between the pair means Roberto Firmino has had to move elsewhere in order to make room.
