REVEALED: Eriksen almost rejected Man Utd before Ten Hag intervention

Christian Eriksen almost pulled out of a move to Manchester United this week, it has been revealed.

The Dane signed for United on Friday after coming off contract at Brentford last month, penning a three-year deal.

The Sunday World says he had been hesitating over a move to the Manchester club.

Sources close to the player suggested he was unsure about joining United as they start a new era under manager Erik ten Hag, even though they were offering a bigger financial package than other clubs in the race for his signature.

Eriksen was eventually convinced after talks with Ten Hag, who he worked with at Ajax as he returned to action just months after collapsing on the pitch during Euro 2020.

The Dane becomes United's second major signing under new boss Erik ten Hag following the arrival of left-back Tyrell Malacia from Feyenoord.
