REVEALED: Chelsea striker Morata had agreed AC Milan move, but...

Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata would be an AC Milan today if not for their change of ownership, it has been revealed.

Italian reporter Fabrizio Romano claims Morata wanted to leave Stamford Bridge and made a return to Italy his top priority.

Chelsea paid a massive £60m for Morata in 2017 to prise him out of Real Madrid.

Then-manager Antonio Conte had hoped to replicate the form Morata showed when the pair were at Juventus together.

But the Spaniard scored just three times in 23 games in the second half of the season and missed out on Spain's World Cup squad as a result.

Romano claims Morata agreed a move to the San Siro but the deal fell through because of the Serie A club's change of ownership.
