Swansea City striker Wilfried Bony was offered to Lille over the summer.
With his loan at Manchester City ending, Bony was ready to sign for LOSC ahead of returning to Swans. At the same time, City defender Eliaquim Mangala was also offered to Lille.
However, an insider says former Lille coach Marcelo Bielsa turned down both players.
He told JDD: "He refused Bony and Mangala (at the end of the transfer window) and got everyone he wanted from the 200 names on offer. He tried but could not do it. The players were not good enough for the ideal football he aspired to set up. Or it would have taken eleven robots devoid of feelings."
