Barcelona's multiple raids over the years on Arsene Wenger's squad has meant good business for Arsenal. In the wake of Barca's signing of Thomas Vermaelen from Arsenal: the Catalan club has lined Arsenal's pockets with €168 million in recent years.
Vermaelen follows Marc Overmars, Emmanuel Petit, Giovanni van Bronckhorst, Thierry Henry, Alex Hleb, Alex Song and Cesc Fábregas in leaving the Gunners for the Nou Camp.
The €168 million raised amounts to 34.6% of the €486 million spent on building the Emirates Stadium, reports AS.
Vermaelen signed a five-year deal with Barca yesterday, joining for a fee of almost €19 million.
