REVEALED: Arteta called Rabiot to discuss Arsenal transfer plans

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has held talks with Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot about a January move to London.

Rabiot only joined Juve last summer from PSG on a Bosman transfer and has gradually been working his way into coach Maurizio Sarri's plans.

However, Foot Mercato says a move to Arsenal is now under serious consideration after a one-on-one chat with Arteta.

The Gunners boss called Rabiot last week in the days leading up to Christmas to discuss his plans and where he saw the midfielder fitting into his system. Arteta has the full of backing of football chief Raul Sanllehi, who is also a fan of Rabiot.

For his part, the French youngster was impressed, though he is also interesting Carlo Ancelotti's Everton.

The Toffees made contact with Rabiot's mother and agent, Veronique, over the weekend to register their interest.
