Rennes star Mbia anxious to make Everton move

Rennes midfielder Stephane Mbia is keen to join David Moyes' Everton.

The Cameroon international admits he is interested in a move to the Premier League and, fully aware of his desire to leave, the Ligue 1 club are believed to have placed a 14million euros price tag on the player.

Toffees boss David Moyes is expected to sign a handful of players to bolster his small squad having been constantly hampered by injuries last term.

Excited by the prospect of a possible move to Merseyside, Mbia claims the club have already expressed an interest in obtaining his signature.

"I have been aware of Everton's interest since last year when I almost joined them," he said.

"I am keen to join them because, if what is reported is true, they have said that they want me and that they value me as a player."

He added: "I am waiting on news. I have not heard anything yet, but for me it is time to move on in my career.

"I have already told the club (Rennes) of my desire to leave but they have the final say.

"They know and understand my position."
