Released Aston Villa defender Richard Dunne has no plans to hang up the boots anytime soon.

The Republic of Ireland defender is preparing for his first appearance in a year when he faces Georgia in Dublin today.

Dunne, 33, said: "It wasn't fitness - I just couldn't kick the ball!

"I could run but I had no strength. I had three operations but my adductor muscles just wouldn't re-attach.

"At times I feared it was the end. Now I've a chance to prove to other clubs I'm fit again."
