Roberto Baronio is amazed by the rejection of Bologna.
The veteran midfielder is now a free agent after his contract with Lazio terminated, but is yet to find a new club.
"Bologna's directors called my agent and told him I am too vain, not efficient enough on the pitch and therefore am not part of their plans," he revealed in the Resto del Carlino newspaper.
"I would've preferred them to say they were looking for another type of player, without going into such detail on my evaluation.
"I am disappointed and won't hide the fact I was intrigued by the idea of wearing the Bologna jersey. The end of that chance does burn.
"If I'd have known earlier, then I would've had more of a look round at other options. Now this risks becoming a problem for me.
"I will continue to look for a club and hope someone will make me an offer."
