Reina delighted helping Liverpool return to Wembley

Pepe Reina is delighted Liverpool are going back to Wembley for the Carling Cup final.

Reina was the penalty shoot-out hero when Steven Gerard last lifted a trophy for the Merseysiders as Liverpool overcame West Ham in the 2006 FA Cup Final at Cardiff.

But only after he had made two horrendous mistakes as the teams fought out a 3-3 draw.

Reina told the Sunday Mirror: "I remember those mistakes against West Ham and they still hurt.

"The thing is, though, that when you get to a final it is all about winning and in the end we took the Cup. That's what will matter against Cardiff. It won't matter if the performance is good or bad.

"We're looking for a win that will give the club a title.

"Obviously it is a dream, to play at Wembley.

"It is where some of the biggest finals are played and it is great for us. The best final I remember watching at Wembley, because I'm a Barcelona supporter, was in 1992 against Sampdoria when Ronald Koeman scored a goal in extra time and Barca won the European Cup. So Wembley is special.

"It is huge that Liverpool have the chance to go back there and win a trophy."
