Reid admits Sunderland threw Burnley game away

Andy Reid admits the Sunderland dressing room was down after their defeat at Burnley yesterday.

"We're all very disappointed," the midfielder told safc.com. "We performed well in the first half and had the opportunity to go out in the second half and really assert ourselves on the game.

"Burnley didn't trouble us too much in the first half - obviously the goal was a penalty but there wasn't much else.

"Then we wanted to come out in the second half and take the game by the scruff of the neck but it didn't quite work out like that and we're all down because this game was one we could have got three points from.

"Even before we scored the goal I felt we were on top and pushing the game, looking like we'd create something.

"So looking back on that and the play we did have, the result was disappointing."
