Redknapp set to give Tottenham whiz Bale a slight break

Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp will give star winger Gareth Bale a few days break to refresh himself after a huge week on the park.

The 21-year old Wales international was the talk of the football world after he netted a second-half hat-trick in the Champions League against title holders Inter Milan last Wednesday.

The performance forced Everton to mark him very closely in the league clash at White Hart Lane on Saturday and Redknapp feels it is right to give him a slight break in the middle of a heavy schedule for Spurs.

"It will be good to give Gareth a couple of days extra off. I think the kid needs it. I think he's probably going to go away for three or four days and we'll get him in Thursday morning and it'll do him the world of good," Redknapp said.

"He's tired. The kid runs miles every game. He has unbelievable stats. He takes some beating most days. He runs long distances. He needs a few days now. He had two tough games with Wales and some tough games with us.

"He's such a nice lad. I walked off the plane and said, 'I bet you never dreamt of scoring a hat-trick at the San Siro'. What a thing for the rest of your life. He does run, he gallops up and down, he's got everything, really."
