Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp has confirmed they're hoping to sign Everton midfielder Steven Pienaar this month.

But Spurs are refusing to match Chelsea's £3m offer and want Everton to accept a lower bid.

Redknapp said: "It's up to the chairman whether he would want to pay that sort of money.

"I think Pienaar is a good player who can play left, right or down the middle. I like him and £3m certainly isn't dear."
