Redding becomes Orlando City's first homegrown signing

Orlando City SC has signed defender Thomas Redding as their first Homegrown Player.

The 17-year old Florida native has penned a multi-year deal making him the MLS expansion franchises first HP and youngest player on the senior roster.

"From the beginning, we've made no secret that the youth development aspect of our club is very important to us," said Lions head coach Adrian Heath of Redding.

"Tommy has a lot of upside and is highly regarded by many in the soccer world, so we're very pleased that he's decided to begin his professional career with us."

The 'quick and athletic' central defender is a current member of the USA U18 national team setup and was recently courted by top clubs in France, Germany, Italy, Spain and England.
