The New York Red Bulls Under-14 team defeated their Aston Villa counterparts 1-0 in the English Premier League International Youth Tournament, played at Warwick, England. the U-14s showed they could compete with the best by defeating Aston Villa's youth team 1-0. The winning strike came from substitute Wilber Nunez in the 20th minute. The young American visitor's continued to create and miss chances as well as hitting the post in the second half.
"I thought it took us a little while to overcome our nerves in the match," U-14 head coach Jeff Zaun said.
"However, once we settled down we controlled the game and I was disappointed that we did not finish more of our chances."
