Real Sociedad midfielder Mikel Merino says he's only focused on a positive end of the season.

Merino, formerly of Newcastle, has been linked with Manchester United and Arsenal in recent days.

"The only thing I have in mind is to end the season in a good way," he told Mundo Deportivo.

"Through all these years I have shown that my commitment is huge, and in these last months I want to make sure that La Real is in the right place, which is playing in Europe. If we succeed, it will be the fifth season in a row, which would be historic.

"It would be an honour to achieve that."
